My name is Alan Douglas I am now based in Port Hardy a small town located in the north of Vancouver Island Canada where I moved to in Sept 2009. Previously I lived in Nottingham England. Taking photographs has fascinated me for many years, "the art of freezing that moment in time" I enjoy making images of most things in our ever changing world but I do have a passion for the natural world.
Some things we can only see by stopping that moment in time and a fine example of this is my image called "Angel Wings" which can be found in the "Birds" section.

I use a Canon 7D camera & lens ranging from 17mm up to 400mm I love to take my camera and just walk in fields or woods and try to capture one of those special moments in our ever changing world.
We all live in a world so manic that it is easy to forget the beauty that surrounds us.
